Nude Sunbathing? Beware the Parrot AR Drone #where20

I think I shared a video of the Parrot Augmented Reality Drone from CES a while back. It appears to have made a comback for Where 2.0. I was a bit skeptical at first but this thing is making my Geek sense tingle. I want one. Hmm.. what about using it with an iPad?

Must See Attack of the Augmented Reality Drones: Parrot AR.Drone in the Air at CES [VIDEO]

First off, The perspective in this video makes it look like this thing is just floating over peoples heads at first. I was like wow, nobody even cares that it's hovering precariously right over them. Secondly, what the hell doe this thing do? I have been racking my brain at what an augmented reality drone would be for. Are we just re-branding some sort of surveillance system, or does this alien looking thing do something new that we should be excited about?

Layar: Augmented Reality App Featuring Twitter and Wikipedia Now on iPhone

Layar is an interesting addition to the augmented reality apps available for the iPhone. The integration of twitter and wikipedia provide a powerful framework for local activities and businesses to create a augmented reality presence. Location based online local advertising is a big deal because it is (for now) a largely untapped market.
